Drop-in advising is intended for quick (< 5 minute) questions and students wishing to declare a Major or Minor in Chemistry or one of our programs. Students wishing to do course planning and/or graduation checks are encouraged to make an appointment (https://bookings.science.sfu.ca/chem-advising). Please note: a valid SFU login is required to view the schedule and/or book an appointment.
Students should bring a copy of their advising transcript (sorted by "both") with them to all advising sessions. Refer to the Advising Transcript page for further details and instructions.
NATALIE ERICKSON | Co-op Coordinator
The co-op program combines work experience with academic studies. Students spend alternate semesters on campus and in study-related jobs. Major and Honours programs leading to a B.Sc. degree plus the co-op education program incorporating four work semesters are available in Chemistry and related areas. The work practicum requirements for co-op are: CHEM 306, 307, 406 and 407. Application is usually three months prior to the start of the term in which the student takes CHEM 306. Students interested in co-op should seek advice as early as possible. A minimum 2.67 cGPA is required to enroll and continue in the co-op program. Higher averages are required for students in the Honours program. Visit the Science Co-op Program website for more information.
Students interesting in speaking with an Advisor for career advising should visit the Career Services wesbite. Career advising topics include: career exploration, work search strategies, interview tips and practice interviews, graduate/professional school applications, and much more!
