INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATION MEDIA
Prequisite:
CMNS 130.
This course will provide an overview of the development of broadcasting and
telecommunications systems in Canada and their relationship to contemporary
society. Topics covered in the course will include the history of the CBC,
cable television, domestic film and music industries, the CRTC, and Canadian
telecommunications development including satellite systems and mobile telephony.
The course will also touch upon alternative media in Canada.

The School expects that the grades awarded in this course will
