Andrew C. Wylie, Biology
Andrew is a Plant Pathology PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences at SFU. His research focuses on emerging diseases of greenhouse vegetable plants in organic agriculture, in particular a disease of organic greenhouse cucumber caused by the fungus-like organism Pythium. He was drawn to the colloquium by an interest in the complex interactions between microbes and plants in soil, coupled with a longstanding flirtation with the history and philosophy of science.
