Phase 4 and ICE2015 Field Activities Complete!

June 20, 2015

We’ve completed Phase 4 of ICE2015 and have returned to Whitehorse to ship systems back to Vancouver! Phase 4 occurred in the community of Haines Junction, the gateway to the majestic Kluane region of mountains and lakes, including Mount Logan, Canada’s biggest mountain. We deployed our PSBN 700 MHz systems just outside town on a hill to test reach down to the community. We followed that by two days of testing at the RCMP post in the community itself, covering much of the community with a relatively small antenna. In both cases, backhaul was provided by an extremely small Inmarsat BGAN service terminal. Now we are in Whitehorse and have packed the systems, and will ship them to Vancouver on Monday, in preparation for future adventures! Massive thanks go to Yukon Wildland Fire Management, the Yukon Emergency Measures Organization,  and all the other agencies who took part in ICE2015. We hope to come back soon!

Keep checking back, as we’ll add more image galleries from ICE2015.
