Trio receive president's media awards

Geography professor Paul Kingsbury, health sciences lecturer Paola Ardiles, and communicator Tia O’Grady were honoured with SFU’s media awards in late Feburary.
Kingsbury, whose research into the paranormal has stirred headlines around the world, garnered him the 2017 President’s Newsmaker award. Ardiles, founder of Bridge for Health, a global network to promote social innovation and community health, won the 2017 Social Media Newsmaker award.
O’Grady, communications manager for the Office of the Vice-President, Research, received the President’s Strategic Communicator award for her strategic approach and success in shaping public knowledge and opinion.
