From a day in Disneyland with disadvantaged kids, to kidnappings, Tiffany Akins covered a variety of stories as a television news videographer (reporter and camera) in Edmonton.
She went to the ‘dark side’ and worked in multiple communications roles within the Government of B.C. For the last 12 years, she has been at Vancouver Coastal Health and has been the lead on all things public health (think measles on a plane), including the overdose file. She also handled media relations and social media duties. She has earned certificates in radio and television arts, and public relations.
Tiffany, who joins SFU Communications and Marketing as the new director of media relations and public affairs, has a dog, Milka, and volunteers at a farm sanctuary, happyherd.org. Please connect with her at email@example.com.
