Working with partners across Burnaby

Simon Fraser University has a rich history of partnership with the City of Burnaby and with Burnaby-based organizations. Thanks to the university’s widespread interest in working with Burnaby communities, Burnaby-based partnerships have involved many different SFU units, departments, staff, students and faculty. Some examples include:

  • The SFU-City of Burnaby Liaison Committee, which offers opportunities for the Mayor, Council, and City staff to connect with SFU’s President, VPs and university staff,
  • The SFU-City of Burnaby Staff Liaison Working Group, which offers the chance to explore partnership opportunities on matters of common interest and provides support to the City and SFU Liaison Committee,
  • The Burnaby Festival of Learning which is co-presented annually by the City of Burnaby and SFU in partnership with many Burnaby organizations, and
  • Many diverse collaborations and partnerships with Burnaby non-profit organizations, industry associations, NGOs, and Indigenous communities.

We are committed to responding nimbly and bravely to the new and emerging challenges and opportunities presented to all of us during COVID-19.

Why this might be important to you.

If you have an idea for partnering with SFU to do work in Burnaby, please contact Tara Flynn.
