The SFU Food Hub pilot project in Burnaby has come to an end. We are incredibly thankful for the support of our community partners, volunteers and the students we have met and served since July!
The SFU Food Hub was a joint partnership and consisted of generous contributions of perishable and non-perishable items from the Greater Vancouver Food Bank; organic produce from Offbeat Produce (Farm-to-Campus initiative); and produce from Nester's through Embark's Food Rescue initiative.
This project was made possible through funds from the United Way of Lower Mainland and the SFU Office of Community Engagement.
The SFU Food Hub was run by the Burnaby Neighbourhood House, SFSS and The Office of Community Engagement.
Below are two other nearby locations that students can get food:
Greater Vancouver Food Bank warehouse site at 8345 Winston Street. The Winston Foodhub is open Tuesday-Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. For more details please visit the GVFB website at www.foodbank.bc.ca
Burnaby Neighbourhood House in North Burnaby (BNH North House) 4908 Hastings St., Burnaby, BC. Tuesday 1:00pm-4:00pm and Thursday 10:00am-3:00pm. North House Foodhub can be reached at: (604) 294-5444
