The School of Computing Science offers a full-time professional master's program in computer science in which students can focus on one of three concentrations: big data, visual computing, or cybersecurity. This cohort-based program trains computational specialists who can construct models, develop algorithms, and write software using state-of-the-art graduate-level knowledge and techniques.
Big data covers the computational treatment of the massive datasets being collected in all areas of our society. This concentration will develop data architects who apply a deep knowledge of computer science to create new tools that find value in these vast amounts of data. Students are well-prepared to become data scientists, programmers, data solutions architects, and chief data officers capable of offering insights that support strategic decision-making.
Visual computing is an emerging discipline that combines computer graphics, computer vision, and interactive techniques to advance technologies for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and creation of 2D or 3D visual content. This concentration prepares students to become software developers and architects in areas including AR/VR, computer graphics, computer vision, imaging sciences, and computer-aided design and manufacturing.
Cybersecurity is fundamentally a computing-based discipline involving technology, people, information, and processes to enable assured operations in the context of adversaries. It involves the creation, operation, analysis, and testing of secure computer systems. Students in this concentration are trained to excel in positions like cybersecurity engineer, cybersecurity analyst, cybersecurity consultant, vulnerability analyst, network architect, and many more.

The School of Computing Science is home to more than 50 top-notch researchers and instructors in database systems, data mining, operating systems, and algorithms.
