Students in our three masters programs complete a mandatory co-op placement as part of their degree. Co-op is a great opportunity for students to gain hands-on work experience by applying the skills and knowledge they obtained in the classroom to real world challenges or to simply branch out and learn new things. The co-op can take various forms, such as a placement in industry, a research position on campus, a project, or specific coursework.

WHAT IT'S LIKE WORKING AS A CO-OP STUDENT

Catch a glimpse into Manekta's and Ankit's co-op experience with the Rick Hansen Institute and BuildDirect, respectively.

Manekta employs machine learning algorithms and complex statistical tools to help develop a mortality risk index for spinal cord injury. When finished, the index will help inform better treatment decisions for spinal cord injury patients.

Ankit uses predictive analytics techniques, such as lead grading and demand forecasting, to improve sales and create efficiencies in the company's operations.
