Cybersecurity Awareness Monthget help

October 16, 2018

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an internationally recognized campaign held each October to help build awareness about the importance of information security. The goal of the campaign is to help people be more secure online by being informed and knowing the simple steps they can take to protect themselves.

This year at SFU we’re focusing on information privacy. Privacy is central to the concept of the individual, and our personal information is a valuable commodity. Both in our personal life and at work, we owe it to ourselves and the University community to protect it.

To help you learn about information privacy, we’ve partnered with the University’s Archives and Records Management Department to develop a short course in Canvas that covers both personal privacy and privacy at SFU. It will only take about 10 minutes to complete and is open to anyone in the University community with an active SFU Computing ID.
