The CBC TV business show Dragons’ Den is sending two of their fire-breathing venture capitalists to Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business.
The sold-out event, to be held at SFU’s Surrey campus on Sept. 29, will include presentations from Jim Treliving, chairman and owner of Boston Pizza International and Bruce Croxon, Founder of Lavalife and Vida Spas.
Treliving and Croxon will discuss what they look for from budding entrepreneurs, and answer students’ questions on how to be successful in business.
A special highlight will include a mini Dragons’ Den, with two budding SFU entrepreneurs pitching to the dragons.
“Entrepreneurship is at the heart of the Beedie School student experience,” says Kirk Hill, the school’s associate dean of external affairs.
“As one of Canada’s most-watched television programs, Dragons’ Den speaks to the country’s appetite for entrepreneurship, and we’re thrilled to have Jim and Bruce share their wisdom with our student body.”
