Simon Fraser University will confer honorary degrees on four distinguished individuals this week during Fall Convocation ceremonies on Oct. 6 and 7.

They include B.C. writer William Deverell (Thursday, 9:45 a.m.), cellist Ian Hampton (Thursday, 2:30 p.m.) ecologist C.S. (Buzz) Holling (Friday, 9:45 a.m.), and former Musqueam chief Wendy Grant-John (Friday, 2:30 p.m.).

The honorary degrees will be conferred at each ceremony following opening remarks by Chancellor Carole Taylor and President Andrew Petter. The recipients will then address the Convocation audience.

Degrees will be granted over the four ceremonies to the 2,000 students eligible to graduate this fall. See hometown lists of grads: http://at.sfu.ca/eLJrzP
