Simon Fraser University will formally install Carole Taylor as the university’s 10th chancellor on Friday, June 17 at the start of its final Spring Convocation ceremony at 2:30 p.m. at the Burnaby campus.
SFU President Andrew Petter will oversee the investiture of the well-known Canadian business leader and former broadcaster and politician.
A brief ceremony will take place following Petter’s opening address. At that time Taylor will take the oath of office before the Hon. Lance Finch, Chief Justice of the Appeals Court of B.C. She’ll then be invested with her new robes of office.
Taylor will next address Convocation grads and visitors as she begins her new role.
Taylor succeeds incumbent Chancellor Brandt Louie, President and CEO of H.Y. Louie Co. and Chairman and CEO, London Drugs Limited.
