Foundational Skills for Project Implementation

Doing a community project that addresses complex community issues and engages with multiple stakeholders can be fun, frustrating, rewarding, challenging, and uplifting—sometimes all at once! This course focuses on skills that you will use to carry out your project plan. You will also learn creative strategies for overcoming obstacles that sometimes come up during community projects.

Who should take this course?

This course is for cohorts in rural Aboriginal communities who are interested in strengthening the skills they need to build leadership and capacities in their communities.

How will I be evaluated?

Evaluation is based on your active participation, attendance, and your personal learning journal, which you will work on throughout the certificate program. You will receive regular feedback from your instructor and community-based mentors.  At four points in the certificate program, both you and your instructor will complete a simple questionnaire about your learning process, participation, and contributions to the program.
