Hilary Morden is a sessional professor at SFU in the School of Criminology and has been a student her whole life. Curiosity drives her interests. She has degrees in business, psychology, english literature, criminology, music performance/pedagogy, and fashion design, and has focused on varied topics such as cyber violence, organized crime, psychological explanations for tragedy in Shakespeare, historical and performance costume, and performance anxiety in gifted musicians. Discovering what it is that we believe to be true about the world we live in is one of the most important things we can do in our lives. Past Philosopers' Cafes she has moderated focused on mental health and the community.

Philosophers’ Café is a series of informal public discussions in libraries, cafés and restaurants throughout Metro Vancouver. The cafés, which are open to everyone, have brought dialogue and discussion to thousands of people who are interested in exploring issues from the absurd to the sublime.
