FLASHPOINT: Canada China Relations: Down and Out?

Admission: No registration required. Tickets will be issued starting at 1 p.m. at the Flashpoint registration table.

A suggested $10 contribution will be welcomed and collected at the registration table. Your contribution helps cover the costs of room rental, AV services, transportation, honorariums for speakers, etc.

Lecturer

Dr. Paul Evans

Dr. Evans has been a professor at the University of British Columbia since 1999, teaching classes in Asian and Trans-Pacific international relations while cross-appointed to the Institute of Asian Research and the Liu Institute for Global Issues. 

He has been a visiting professor at universities such as Harvard, University of Hong Kong, Singapore Management University, and a guest lecturer at more than 50 universities and think-tanks across Asia. He has directed exchange and partnership projects with 15 government-funded research institutes in the region and is a member of the editorial board of many prestigious international journals dealing with Asian affairs.  

Dr. Evans is also the author or editor of seven books, the most recent being, Engaging China: Myth, Aspiration and Strategy in Canadian Policy from Trudeau to Harper. He is currently working on a new project, Global China in the Age of Xi and Trump.
