Strategies for Flash Creative Non-Fiction

Learn how tight word counts can bring insight and focus to your writing in this workshop about stories that are small but powerful. From structural techniques to subject matter, we’ll look at tips and strategies for working in this emerging genre of writing.

Instructor Bio:

Sonja Larsen’s memoir Red Star Tattoo: My Life as a Girl Revolutionary (Random House Canada) was shortlisted for the 2016 Hilary Weston Writers Trust Non-Fiction Award and received the 2017 Edna Staebler Non-Fiction award. Her work has appeared in literary publications in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. She is currently working on her second book CLICK OK TO CONTINUE, about her experiences running a computer lab in an inner-city community centre. She lives in Vancouver.
