Maryse de la Giroday

Maryse de la Giroday received her BA in communication from SFU and was awarded an MA in creative writing and new media from De Montfort University (Leicester, UK) on the basis of her final project, “The Nanotech Mysteries: An Initiation in the Science and the Technology.” Her BA honours project resulted in a video on intercultural communication and was used as a teaching tool in Canada and the U.S. 

Since 2008, she has written extensively on the topic of nanotechnology on her FrogHeart blog and has presented on the topic at regional, national and international conferences. Her papers on the topic have been published in peer-reviewed journals. 

A technical and marketing communication writer for several years, Maryse de la Giroday wrote for Creo Products, Inetco Systems, Nortel Networks, and other technology companies. She has also taught in SFU’s Writing and Communications Program.
