Autumn Jonssen holds a BA (Hon.) in European and Russian studies from Carleton University. After working as a research assistant, she pursued a postgraduate certificate in technical writing at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Following a move to Vancouver in 2012, she began applying her technical writing skills to instructional design and has since developed training in a variety of industries, including healthcare and public utilities. Autumn is currently part of a growing learning and development team for a local design house and fashion boutique.
In 2014-15 she served as president of the Canada West Coast chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. She continues to attend the society's events and network with other technical writers in the city, while she also volunteers as a mentor in the Next Steps Mentorship Program at the YWCA supporting mentees with job search activities.
On the weekends you can usually find her exploring the hiking trails around Vancouver, attending a yoga or ballet class or hanging out with friends.
