Adam Haiou Tan

Adam Haiou Tan is a court interpreter who is accredited and contracted by the Ministry of Justice of British Columbia. He is also a conference interpreter nationally certified by the Ministry of Personnel of the People’s Republic of China. His areas of specialization are legal/court and business interpretation and translation.

With more than 20 years of experience gained from working in the interpretation and translation field in Canada and China, Tan has taught interpretation and translation courses and designed and marked interpreter/translator certification examinations in both countries. He is also the curriculum developer of SFU's Legal Interpretation and Translation Certificate.

Tan was professionally trained as an interpreter/translator at Shanghai International Studies University (上海外国语大学) and Tongji University (同济大学) in Shanghai, China. He also earned his MBA from the University of San Francisco.
