Al Etmanski is a curator, author, blogger, advocate and social entrepreneur specializing in innovative, multisector solutions to complex societal challenges.
Etmanski is currently a partner in Social Innovation Generation (SiG), a national collaboration dedicated to scaling up innovative solutions to deeply rooted social problems and exploring new ways of financing the social sector. He is also an Ashoka Fellow and a faculty member of the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) Institute at Northwestern University.
A co-founder of PLAN (Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network), Etmanski proposed and led the successful campaign to establish the world’s first savings plan for people with disabilities, the Registered Disability Savings Plan. In 2015 he received the Order of Canada for his transformative work.
Al is an advisor for the Social Innovation Certificate program.
