Coursework: What to expect
This certificate is university-level. You’ll complete readings, exercises and practical assignments for each course.
You can set your own coursework hours, following posted assignment and discussion timelines. Through our online learning management system, Canvas, you will be able to connect with your classmates and instructors.
To receive the Executive Leadership Certificate, you must successfully complete all courses within a three-year period.
Take individual courses
If you’re not ready to take the Executive Leadership Certificate, you may still register for most courses individually if space is available. You can register directly or add your name to a waitlist if the course is full.
You’ll access the online courses through Canvas, our learning management system, which is available through the SFU website. Canvas is extremely user-friendly—even if you’ve never studied online before. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection.
You will receive course details and Canvas access instructions on the first day of the course. You can check if your browser is compatible with Canvas here.
