Learning environment

Our class sizes are small—each language-specific training class has no more than 20 people—and our learning environment is interactive. In addition to lectures, exercises and discussions, you’ll participate in on-location legal interpreting training sessions (conducted remotely until August 31, 2021 due to COVID-19). Additionally, you’ll learn from practising lawyers as well as accredited or certified legal terminologists, interpreters and translators.

Graduation requirements

All courses have been designed to be taken in sequence. You must obtain a minimum of 70% (B-) on the final grade AND be present for 90% of the lecture hours in each of the courses in order to move on to the NEXT course. (If you fail to meet the grade point and/or attendance requirements, you will automatically fail the course and program, making you ineligible to receive the Legal Interpretation and Translation Certificate.)
