Part-time, in class or online The Writer’s Studio
Participation in the Vancouver instance of the Writer's Studio may entitle you to qualify for a study permit. Our online program is not eligible for a student visa, since it is delivered fully online, students can take the program from anywhere in the world.
We do not sponsor students. For more information on study permits, contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada directly. The permit procedure for undergraduate and graduate students is available on SFU's Student Services website.
As an international student, you must register and pay for all courses in the program before we issue a letter of acceptance for a study permit application. Course and program fees are the same for domestic and international students. If Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada denies your application for a study permit, you will be eligible for a full refund if you submit a written request 14 business days before the program starts and include the original Immigration Canada letter verifying your study permit was denied. If you cancel your registration for any other reason, you are subject to the Continuing Studies non-credit course cancellation/refund policy.
NOTE: Before we issue the letter of acceptance that is submitted to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, students must be accepted into the program and have paid the full tuition.
International students are responsible for finding their own work (a separate visa may be required) and housing. We do not provide support in this area.
While our program is open to people for whom English is not their first language, fluency in reading and writing English is required to take the program. However, we do not have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) requirement.
