Congratulations to the class of October 2023!
Celebrate your achievements and graduation at 1 of 4 convocation ceremonies held by Simon Fraser University at its Burnaby campus this October. Each ceremony will be broadcast live so graduands, family, friends and the university community who are unable to attend in-person can participate.
Links to watch the ceremonies on YouTube will be published on Wednesday, October 4.
There are some important steps you need to take after you receive your official senate letter by email and before you can attend your convocation ceremony.
Confirm your attendance and reserve your regalia
Ensure you've completed your graduation checklist, including confirming your attendance and renting regalia by October 1.

Graduands may invite up to 4 guests to attend in-person. Convocation Mall will open to guests 1 hour before each ceremony (8:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.).
Guests unable to attend in-person can watch the live broadcast through YouTube. Ceremony recordings are available afterwards to watch on demand.
SFU respectfully acknowledges that convocation is hosted on the traditional, unceded and continually occupied territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) peoples. There is a great amount of work to be done towards reconciliation and systemic decolonization within the university. We are committed to educating ourselves and others, respectfully including Indigenous practices, protocols and ceremony into convocation, and continuing to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples across these lands.
