Co-op Options
In addition to the regular Co-op program, these are Co-op options you may choose to do as well. However, be aware of how COVID-19 may be impacting these options. See here for more information.
International Co-op provides you with a unique opportunity to travel the world, while working in your specified field of study. Students who work abroad expand their career prospects by gaining international experiences in the workplace and beyond. Since 1993, thousands of SFU students have completed work terms around the globe. See here for more information.
This is an opportunity for you to create your own Co-operative Education learning opportunity with a new employer contact. Visit this page for more information.
Students have an opportunity to participate in research Co-op terms, where they gain experience in an academic, research and/or lab setting at SFU. Ideally, at least two of the three mandatory work semesters should be completed in industry unless a student plans to pursue post-graduate studies.
Some research Co-op opportunities are posted through myExperience, but you may also network with professors to identify a research Co-op opportunity, and bring it to the Co-op office for discussion and approval. Learn more about professors in ENSC.
Are you a student entrepreneur, changemaker or a team ready to commit to your start-up full-time for a term? eCoop allows you to receive a financial award while working full-time on your very own start-up—complete with dedicated mentorship and space from Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection.
