How has China’s breakneck march towards capitalism profoundly changed peoples’ personal relationships?

How have Chinese women learnt to survive in the new market economy and to struggle in a society full of moral ambiguities?

Come to join the conversation on Beijing Women, a new English translation of short stories, with the author Wang Yuan and co-translator Professor  Shuyu  Kong , who teaches Chinese literature and culture at SFU.

Presented in partnership with the Asia-Canada Program and David Lam Centre for International Communication, Simon Fraser University.
