Wielding the Phoenix Pen: Spirit-writing Altars in Hong Kong and Vancouver

Guest speaker, Associate Professor Paul Crowe, will introduce a research project on a network of Spirit-writing altars (扶乩壇) dedicated to Lüzu (呂 袓) in Kowloon, Hong Kong Central, the New Territories and Vancouver, with videos and historical photographs. These groups have links to the period of Sun Yat-sen’s campaign when it was headquartered in Guangzhou. In English.
