The Philip Rutherford/ Harper Collins Annual Gradaute Award

Terms of Reference

  1. The Phillip Rutherford/HarperCollins Annual Graduate Award is to recognize and reward an outstanding student pursuing a graduate degree in a Publishing Program.
  2. One scholarship of approximately $1,000 will be awarded annually.
  3. The criteria for this award is:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate level and if applicable, at the graduate level
    2. registration at Simon Fraser University in the Master of Publishing Studies Program
  4. Students must be nominated for the scholarship by the Director, Master of Publishing program. Students may apply on the online Graduate Awards system (GA3) and must provide:
    1. a current, unofficial SFU transcript and a copy of the transcript of the most recent degree program completed
    2. one letter of reference from a Master of Publishing program faculty member familiar with the applicant's work
    3. a curriculum vitae summarizing scholastic achievements and work relevant to the aims of this scholarship
  5. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the nomination of the Director, Master of Publishing Program.
