The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) funds highly qualified post graduates to prepare for careers in health research as independent investigators in biomedical research, clinical research, research respecting health systems and health services, research on societal, cultural and environmental influences on health and the health of populations. Application process and internal deadlines: 

  • This funding opportunity uses ResearchNet and the Canadian Common CV Systems; these systems take a lot of time to complete and we suggest starting your application early. 
  • The application form asks for 'Signature Pages' which you and your supervisor must sign. Note that our office's electronic approval of applications on ResearchNet constitutes a signature from the appropriate authorized official on behalf of the institution.
  • Applicants must submit their full application on the ResearchNet system by NOON on November 1, 2017
  • A University Designate within the Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies will approve all eligible applications on ResearchNet on November 1st between 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
