Simons Foundation Graduate Award in the Faculty of Environment

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to recognize and provide financial support to graduate students in the Faculty of Environment
  2. The criteria for this award are:
    1. have demonstrated academic excellence in the most recent degree program completed or in their current graduate program
    2. are registered full-time in a graduate program in the Faculty of Environment
  3. Preference will be given to candidates conducting research in sustainable development (from local to global scales), environmental and water security, environmental science, and/ or ethics and best practices.
  4. The award application will be made using the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must include:
    1. copies of post-secondary transcripts
    2. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with applicant's work
    3. curriculum vitae
    4. a one-page summary of the applicant's research, including how it relates to the broad themes of the award
  5. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the nomination of the Associate Dean, Graduate and Research, in the Faculty of Environment.
