Wolfgang Haider Memorial Graduate Award

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to recognize and provide financial support to a graduate student in the School of Resource and Environmental Management, who is conducting research related to human dimensions of natural resource use.
  2. The award will be granted annually to a student who fulfills the following criteria:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the graduate level
    2. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in the School of Resource and Environmental Management
    3. is conducting research related to human dimensions of natural resource use
  3. Preference will be given to candidates working in developing country contexts.
  4. Application is made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. copies of post-secondary transcripts
    2. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's work
    3. a one page summary of the applicant's research including how the research relates to human dimensions of natural resource use, and if applicable, developing country contexts.
  5. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the recommendation of the Director of the School of Resource and Environmental Management.
