Chad Day Graduate Fellowship in Resource Management

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of the Chad Day Graduate Fellowship in Resource Management is to provide financial support for a student pursuing a graduate degree in the School of Resource and Environmental Management, specializing in environmental and resource management problems in British Columbia.
  2. The Chad Day Graduate Fellowship in Resource Management is a two-term award.
  3. The criteria for this award are:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate level, and, if applicable, at the graduate level
    2. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in the School of Resource and Environmental Management
    3. demonstrated commitment to research on environmental problems in British Columbia
  4. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  5. Application is made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. a current, unofficial SFU transcript OR an official transcript from the most recent degree program at another post-secondary institution for a student just entering the graduate program at SFU
    2. two letters of reference
    3. a concise description (one page or less) of the proposed or actual thesis research project
  6. The completed application and all supporting documents must be received by the department of enrolment.
  7. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the recommendation of the Director of the School of Resource and Environmental Management.
