Dorothy Middler Thomas Graduate Entrance Scholarship in English

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for a graduate student entering a graduate program in the Department of English. When possible, preference will be given to female students.
  2. The criteria for this award are:
    1. admission to Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in the Department of English
    2. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate level and, if applicable, at the graduate level
  3. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  4. Application is made on the Application for a Private Graduate Scholarship form and must be accompanied by:
    1. copies of all post-secondary transcripts
    2. a concise outline of the proposed or actual program of studies
    3. two letters of reference
  5. The completed application and all supporting documents must be received by the department of enrolment.
  6. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee on the recommendation of the Graduate Chair of the Department of English.
