Emergency Preparedness Conference Scholarship in Emergency Communications

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of the Emergency Preparedness Conference Scholarship in Emergency Communications is to provide financial support for a graduate student in the School of Communication or other appropriate area in the Emergency Communications field.
  2. To be eligible for the award, a student must satisfying the following criteria:
    1. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in the School of Communication graduate program or other appropriate graduate program
    2. pursuit of applied research project in the area of emergency / disaster management
  3. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  4. Application is made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. copies of all post-secondary transcripts
    2. a concise outline of the proposed program of studies
    3. two letters of reference from faculty members familiar with the applicant's work
    4. one sample of a paper selected by the student as representative of his/her work
  5. The completed application and all supporting documents must be received by the Department of enrolment.
  6. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
