Dr. E.A. Fattah Graduate Scholarship in Criminology

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of the Dr. E.A. Fattah Graduate Scholarship in Criminology is to provide financial support for a graduate student in School of Criminology pursuing graduate work in the area of victimology.
  2. The award is a one-term award valued at a portion of the earned income from the endowment.
  3. To be eligible for the award, a student must satisfying the following criteria:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate level and, if applicable, at the graduate level
    2. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in School of Criminology pursuing graduate work in the area of victimology
    3. promise of outstanding achievement at the graduate level with particular emphasis on intellectual ability, originality and ability in research
  4. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  5. The award application and/or nomination is made using the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must include:
    1. copies of all post-secondary transcripts
    2. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's work
    3. a concise outline of the proposed program of studies
  6. The completed application and all supporting documents must be received by the department of enrolment.
  7. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
