Lambda Alpha International Vancouver Annual Graduate Award

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for a graduate student in the Master of Urban Studies.
  2. The criteria for this award are:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate level and, if applicable, at the graduate level
    2. registration at Simon Fraser University in the Master of Urban Studies
    3. promise of outstanding achievement at the graduate level
  3. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  4. The student must be nominatedfor this award by the Director, Urban Studies Program. The nomination is made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. a nomination letter
    2. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s work
    3. a curriculim vitae outlining professional, academic, and volunteer or community leadership experience
    4. a current, unofficial SFU transcript or a copy of the official transcript of the most recent degree program completed
  5. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on the nomination of the Director of the Urban Studies Program, behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
