William and Jane Saywell Graduate Scholarship in History

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to provide financial assistance to a graduate student studying in any field in History.
  2. The William and Jane Saywell Graduate Scholarship in History is a one-term award. Multiple awards may be granted in a given year if sufficient funds are available.
  3. The criteria for this award are:
    1. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in the Department of History
    2. a grade point average of 3.5 or greater
  4. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  5. Application is made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. copies of all post-secondary transcripts
    2. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's work
    3. a concise outline of the proposed program of studies
  6. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
