We're sharing the contest entries from our Secret Spots & First Impressions grad student photo competition.

This photo is from Chantelle Lachance, Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology. She writes:

One of my first trips to downtown Vancouver involved picking up the west coast living “essentials” — an MEC backpack, lululemon tanks, and a bear bell.

To express my excitement, I called my mom back in Ontario and hopped on the bus. Engaged in my conversation, I didn’t realize I was on the wrong bus until I was at Jericho beach. What a rookie mistake!

Rather than getting flustered, I decided to take a walk. I found a remote spot near the Vancouver Yacht club to watch the sunset near a cute little old lady performing tai chi. With the view I had that night, I am thankful I took the wrong bus.
