Higher Education Strategy Associates (HESA) has just released its new field-normalized Canadian research rankings.

The data in the report was divided into two categories of Science & Engineering and Social Sciences & Humanities.

SFU made the top 10 lists for both, placing 6th in Science & Engineering, and 10th in Social Sciences & Humanities of the 61 Canadian universities included in the survey, and competing well with much larger universities.

Dr. Andrew Petter, our university president, says:

The results place SFU 10th in social science and humanities disciplines and sixth in science and engineering disciplines among all Canadian research universities.  Moreover, SFU is one of only seven Canadian universities to place in the top 10 in both disciplinary areas.

These results provide strong affirmation of the research talents and achievements of SFU faculty, and of the breadth and depth of our research strengths.
