Kyle Thompson Receives MEXT Award

May 01, 2012

Congratulations to Kyle Thompson, who received a MEXT award to study in Japan after completing his MA in Communication last year.

Kyle will be working in the Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies at Kyoto University researching the international development of Information Society Theory following the end of the Second World War.

Continuing the work he began in his Master's thesis, he will be investigating how informationalism became a field of struggle between capitalist and socialist forces during this period, as each sought to articulate visions of the future and programs of development that would ensure the victory of their respective causes.
