External Award: 2015 Summer Institute - Optical Sensing Technologies

January 15, 2015

On behalf of IC-IMPACTS, I would like to invite graduate-level students from Simon Fraser University to apply for our newly launched Summer Institute ( http://summerinstitute.ic-impacts.com/ ). The Institute is specifically designed for Masters, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral students engaged in research related to optical sensing technologies. It’s an exciting opportunity for your eligible graduate students to apply for a funded week-long research program at the University of Toronto this summer.

The Summer Institute is an annual event that brings graduate students from across Canada and India together for a robust, one-week program where they will learn advanced research techniques, collaborate together on challenges, and hear from industry representatives in the optical sensing space. We’re helping these graduate students build their skills in research, commercialization, leadership, and helping them build relationships with researchers and industry leaders from around the world.

Our first Summer Institute will be held in Toronto, Canada in June 2015 and space is limited only 50 graduate students from Canada and India will be selected to participate. Students accepted to attend will have their flights and accommodation covered.

IC-IMPACTS is the first, and only, Canada-India Research Centre of Excellence established through the Canadian Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) dedicated to the development of research collaborations between Canada and India. Built upon the vision of three of Canada’s leading research universities – The University of British Columbia, the University of Alberta, and the University of Toronto – IC-IMPACTS is a pan-Canadian Centre bringing together researchers, industry innovators, community leaders, government agencies, and community organizations from across India and Canada, to work hand-in-hand to find solutions to the key challenges that affect the quality of life of millions of people in Indian and Canadian communities.
