External Award: Canadian Water Resources Association Scholarships

The Canadian Water Resources Association annually offers five scholarships awarded to graduate students whose programs of study focus on applied, natural, or social science aspects of water resources.

  • The $5,000 Dillon Consulting Scholarship is awarded to the highest ranked of the applicants. Funding is provided by Dillon Consulting Ltd. on an annual basis.
  • The $2,000 Ken Thomson Scholarship is awarded to the second highest ranked applicant. The Ken Thomson Scholarship is awarded from a special fund set up in his honour.
  • In addition, three $1,500 scholarships are awarded from the general funds of the Canadian Water Resources Association. All applicants receive a one-year membership in the Canadian Water Resources Association.

The scholarships are open either to Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents attending a Canadian university or college, who are enrolled in full-time graduate studies in any discipline in both Fall and Winter terms of the 2016-2017 academic year.

  • Nominations Open for Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy December 13, 2017
    Nominations are now being accepted for the Nora and Ted Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy. The prize is awarded annually for work that presents new daring and creative ways of looking at the world. Submit nominations for consideration by February 15, 2018.
