The Dobbin Atlantic Scholarship Programme will build on this shared heritage, with a view to developing a new generation of academic, artistic, cultural and economic links between these two regions.

Dobbin Atlantic Scholars will receive scholarship awards to support research which seeks to find new ways to work in partnership, in order to face common challenges and to explore shared opportunities.

Successful research projects will explore areas such as;

  • our common culture, history and heritage
  • the potential of our shared resources
  • scientific and technological innovation

This programme is made possible through the most generous support of Mark Dobbin and the Department of Foreign Affairs (Ireland), Emigrant Support Programme.

The awards will be for an amount up to $7,000, precise details of which will depend on the duration of stay. More information here.

All scholars awarded must commence their research trip on or before June 1, 2017.

Deadline to apply: December 12, 2016
