***This message is sent on behalf of SFU Aboriginal Reconciliation Council (SFU-ARC) co-chairs Chris Lewis and Kris Magnusson***

To the SFU Community,

We invite you to witness the presentation of the SFU-ARC calls to action for reconciliation to SFU President Andrew Petter.

Over the past year, the council held eight open forums and 11 council meetings to inform the calls to action for the final report, titled Walk this Path With Us. This report highlights the groundwork ahead as the University community continues its collaborative journey towards reconciliation.

The report includes 33 calls to action, organized into four clusters:

  • Creating safe and welcoming spaces for Aboriginal peoples
  • Curriculum innovation and indigenization
  • Student pathways and support
  • Administration, hiring and project implementation

The real work begins now as the University begins implementing the report’s 33 calls to action.
