How can you develop the expertise and confidence you need to thrive in a teaching role? If you are a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow, one concrete step you can take is to complete the Certificate Program in University Teaching and Learning (CPUTL).

This part-time program presented by SFU's Teaching and Learning Centre will give you a deeper understanding of how to approach teaching, along with practical skills that you can apply as a teaching assistant or instructor. As a participant you will have the opportunity to interact with peers from other disciplines, and you will receive a certificate documenting your commitment to teaching.
