SSHRC: Storytellers Contest

December 05, 2017

Are you a data journalist, social media master or aspiring filmaker—a storyteller?

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)’s annual Storytellers contest challenges post-secondary students to show Canadians how social sciences and humanities research is affecting lives, the world and the future—for the better. Each year, 25 finalists are selected to receive a $3000 cash prize and specialized training in research communications.

The contest is open to all students—graduate and undergraduate—enrolled at Canadian post-secondary institutions. The task is to tell the story, in three (3) minutes or 300 words, of a SSHRC-funded research project —their own or a professor’s (get their permission first!). The story should be creative, compelling, and clear.

For further details on this year’s Storytellers contest, please visit the SSHRC website, follow them on Twitter and watch the #SSHRCStorytellers hashtag . For questions, please contact Storytellers@sshrc-crsh.gc.ca
