The rare Charitable Research Reserve has partnered with the Ages Foundation Fund to award four scholarships that include the opportunity to conduct research at the rare Charitable Research Reserve in Waterloo Region, Ontario.

Available Awards:

  • One $4000 award
  • One $2000 award
  • Two $1000 awards
  • Open to Canadian or International graduate students who will conduct field research on the rare Charitable Research Reserve property between May 2018 and April 2019.
  • Research must be environment focused with a landscape-scale approach to the contest theme (below).

Contest Theme: Biodiversity and Human Wellbeing
"Biodiversity includes genetic, species and ecosystem diversity. Simply put, rare is more than an impressive collection of plants and animals. We significantly contribute to preserving local genetic diversity of species, and cover a range of ecosystems including forests, cold water streams, and tall grass prairie. Research opportunities exist to examine the multifaceted relation between humans and biodiversity. Most obviously, biodiversity provides us with numerous resources we rely upon, but it also has many social benefits, such as cultural and recreational values."

For more details, including application and submission information, please visit the rare Scholarship website.  The application deadline for these awards is April 23, 2018.
