Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization delivering research and training programs in Canada for more than 15 years. Mitacs Training workshops provide grad students and postdocs with career-ready skills. One and two-day workshops are facilitated by professionals in the field and are free to current grad students and postdocs.

Mitacs is offering the following workshops in Vancouver:

Essentials of Productive Teams

Recognize and utilize the skills of others to achieve workplace goals quickly while gaining the understanding of what it takes to lead and participate in a truly effective work team that meets deadlines and sees results.

Foundations of Project Management I

This 2-day workshop provides an experiential, collaborative learning experience to enable participants to integrate the principles of project management, team building, group dynamics and leadership that participants can apply immediately and in their future careers and lives. Participants experience the processes of collaborative planning and management and can see the benefits firsthand.

Networking Skills

This full day workshop is designed to provide insight and interaction along with the know how to build and stabilize business relationships through effective networking.

Career Professionalism

When working with others, we often forget the impressions and impact we have on those around us. From first impressions to making a lasting impression, this one-day workshop will provide you with tips, tricks and tools from dressing the part to knowing how to apply effective communication techniques and professional behaviour when working closely with others.

Discovering the Entrepreneur Within

Discovering the Entrepreneur Within has participants analyze successful entrepreneurial ventures and identify what it took for those entrepreneurs to reach their goals. Using an interactive, team-based approach, this full-day workshop builds awareness of the current Canadian entrepreneurial landscape and resources available to those looking to start their own business.
